Here's a few more for you. We had an amazing event, especially from a 2T Grand Prix perspective! 37 on a grid is a major accomplishment, and a beautiful sound!

Qualifying was yesterday and I took second with the new 4DP conversion. I can say she runs quite differently, but very well. There is definitely a touch more power, but the revs have shifted as well. Same power band, just around 600 rpm up the range. When I get her home I'll play with the emultion tube/needle settings to maybe clean up a stumble a 6500, but other than that she's a rocket!

Calabogie Motorsports Park. One of the most beautiful facilities I've been too, and hands down my favorite track.

Well that's a wrap on 2017 for me! Made a quick trip back to Canada for a weekend with RACE. Got 3rd in the vintage Open class and 11th with the modern lightweight class. Fun weekend and a good "proof of design" for my 4DP conversion. The bike is very strong! Now for the off season mods and maintenance.

#1 on the list is suspension. The 3AK had a very simple damping rod front end, and the shock needs some love. The shock will head down to Traxxion in a few weeks, but the forks I'm up in the air on. It's important to me not to modify any of this bike's OE components so it can someday retire again and be fully restored to original just as I recieved it, but the damping is inadequate at best, and very hard to adjust now that I'm getting back up to speed.

I'd love to hear some ideas, but my current prospects are to custom machine a pair of fork caps and install a full custom set of 20mm cartridges ($1000.00+!!) or a full front end swap for a modified '03-'05 R6 unit. I'm fully confident I can retain use of the Marvic wheels with the R6 front end, but it is significantly heavier than the original front end.

When I wanted to go to 17" wheels for my 750 folks at Computrak recommended an 03 R6 front end. Got the whole front end (forks, wheel, brakes) for about $ 400 on e-bay. It was a great improvement for the 750.
